Ending August, Orchestra Style

Last August 31, Dee and I went to Solaire to attend Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in Concert held at The Theatre in Solaire in Parañaque.

Thanks to Film Concerts PH, they made it possible for geeks to participate and see the film while enjoying the scores played by Filharmonika Orchestra conducted by Mr. Gerard Salonga.

In the crowd, you’d see fans of the franchise wear different cosplays. From young padawans, young Leia Organa, Jedis and Siths and even starfighter pilots and simply Empire employees also filled the seats of the event. You’ll see lightsabers in different colors entering the theatre and buzzing with excitement as they take photos of the stage prior to the performance. Moreover, groups from 501st Legion Philippine Garrison and FightSaber Philippines were also in the event as well. Fans get to experience the movie while immersing themselves with the music made by John Williams, making it more magical.

Since this is the second film on the Classic Trilogy from the Star Wars franchise, I think it’s also safe to say that there will be another event like this next year. Last September 2024, they also had the same event for Star Wars: A New Hope.

The very same organization brought the Infinity Saga Concert Experience in the very same venue last March 22-23, 2025.

Suffice it to say, with the growing popularity of this kind of event, I’m excited to participate in events like this in the future. As someone who enjoys listening to soundtracks not only from the movies but also in games, it’s not too far to have this kind of event for video games soundtracks as well. As I recall, Film Concerts PH will also be bringing Stardew Valley: Festival of Seasons which will be held on April 25, 2026. Tickets are already sold out last April. Though I wasn’t able to secure a ticket for that event, I can’t wait for the future ones.

Maybe, if lady luck knocks at our doorstep, maybe we can have a Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 concert in the Philippines too. Provided that Sandfall Interactive will finally announce that in the future.
